(For below, Q referred to as questions from HKU MBA marketing club, V stands for Venus)

Q: How would you describe yourself?

V: Temperate, flexible and open-minded. I’m open to different opinions and practices. I’m a team player who is easy to work with and could finish a task assigned efficiently.

Q: How would you like others to describe you?

V: Genuine and trustworthy. I hope people to see me as a reliable and non-judgmental person and feel comfortable to talk and share with me.

Q: Please share with us a memorable story from work.

V: The story I am going to share with you is about my previous job. I was in one of the situations which I find challenging to me. As mentioned, I'm a temperate person who doesn’t like to approach things aggressively. This happened about 2 years ago. I found that one of my subordinates seriously violated our company's rules and regulations. After consulting with the other managers concerned, we decided to dismiss her. Even though dismissing someone is quite a challenging task to me, I chose to talk to her calmly. After the incident, I realized that in a relatively high position at work, I will always be put into a challenging situation; however, through solving the problems one after another, I have grown and will continue to grow. One of my goals as a leader is that I will not only improve myself day by day, but also encourage everyone to grow together.

Q: Please share with us about someone who you worked with that you like or don’t like about.

V: I like to work with someone who takes responsibilities seriously. I enjoy working with people with great creativity who always think outside of the box; furthermore, working with them inspire my creativity.

Q: Please share with us about your experience at HKU MBA

V: The classmates all came from diverse backgrounds with various perspectives worthy to learn from. It’s an engaging and positive learning environment for us. The whole learning environment, which I am gradually adapting to, inspires me to work harder.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

V: Before the pandemic, I enjoy travelling and exploring different cities on a relaxing schedule. At times, I do yoga and play tennis with friends. However, with the restriction on travelling, I got so much time during the pandemic that I even got a yoga teaching certificate and an addiction to Netflix.

Q: Imagine we are now at July 2032, Where are you? What are you doing? Who are you with?

V: I am on a business trip somewhere overseas. I’m having brunch with my business partner (Tina: me?) after a successful meeting with our client. After our brunch, I am going back to my room and calling my family on Facetime.
